WHAT'S HAPPENING AT GOOD SHEPHERD CHURCH

Greetings!

On Monday a representative from Trinity Lutheran Church in Lisle dropped off information about a FREE Help Clinic they are having this Saturday, April 14 from 9am to 2 pm.  Clinic benefits include:  Medical Screening, Dental Screening, Vision Screening, Eyeglass Repair, Hot Lunch, Bicycle Repair, Hair Cuts, Healing Prayer, Family Photos, Companionship, Pregnancy Counseling and much more.  If you or someone you know is in need of free help, you can visit www.trinitylisle.org/clinic on line or call Trinity at 630-390-3074 for more information.  I also have the flyer in the office and the information will be distributed at the Food Pantry on Saturday as well.

Next Thursday is the deadline for our ministry teams to submit information for publication in the combined May/June Rod and Staff Newsletter.  We're planning to combine the months July and August as well, so be sure to get and keep your issues for reference.

Ministry Support:  We recently made some purchases to make our church a more welcoming place...even for our little ones.  Baby-changing "stations" are now installed in both of our washrooms. If you'd like to help offset the cost of these and other worship place purchases, please feel free to give a little extra in your weekly offering and mark it for "General Fund" or "Ministries." Thanks for helping us "support" all God's children:-)

Spring Adult Retreat:  Pastor Suzanne is preparing our Spring Retreat, which will take place April 27 and 28.  Please sign up at church if you're planning on joining us.  The retreat goes from 6 to 10pm on Friday and from 10am to 4pm on Saturday.  The only cost will be food - dinner on Friday, breakfast and lunch on Saturday.  We will do our best to keep these costs as low as possible.  Please join us for this time of renewal, learning, and community-building.  All adults (ages 18 and over) are welcome to join us.

Recap from last Sunday:  We had the privilege of celebrating Easter Sunday together, after a wonderful few days filled with Holy Week services.  Pastor Suzanne challenged us to think about how we can share the story of God's love - which is over 2000 years old - in a way that may reach the hearts and minds of 21st century people.  How are you helping to make Jesus' name known in your "circle" of life?

Preview of this Sunday:  We'll hear the story of the appearance of Jesus to the disciples and we'll also have an opportunity to hear part of the story of Ruth and Naomi, from the Old Testament.  Pastor Suzanne will continue to challenge us on taking our faith to the world.  Come, be inspired; come, be renewed.  Come, join us as we worship, praise, learn, listen, hear, and experience God together.

Wishing you peace, hope, joy and love always!  Enjoy the sunshine.
