Evidence Sharing and The Samaritan Center – Beginning at 11:30am this Sunday, the Church Council and Pastor Suzanne, working with representatives from The Samaritan Center, will be providing a process for evidence-sharing from the legal case. In addition, we will have the opportunity to be in small groups to talk about how this case has affected us personally, how we are feeling, and how we can continue to move forward as a congregation. We hope you will make every effort to be with us.
Manna order cards are in and forms for October are available in church this Sunday. These newest forms are due to be turned in by October 5th. Manna cards are a safe way to spend without carrying cash or worrying about your credit card being hacked by a security breach. There are several vendor cards that will suit everyone's needs, and they make excellent gifts as well. Best of all, you only pay the face value of the card and never have any extra fees added.. Check out the newest form and consider placing an order. Call the office (815-886-4354) if you have any questions about the program and we'll be glad to help out. Thanks!
Caring Group – We'll be going to the Valley View School District presentation on bullying prevention. It will be held at Lukancic Middle School on Normantown Road. The presentation starts at 6:30pm and will be an opportunity for discussion on peer-to-peer violence, as well as training for adults and kids to talk together about the issue of bullying. If you'd like to join the Caring Group in attending, please meet them at the school.
The Connection Café would appreciate receiving treats to share on Sunday. It doesn't have to be much—just a little something to go along with the coffee. Please remember the Café is closed while we are having worship to avoid distraction and disturbing others during the worship time. Please be considerate.
The parking lot seal coating was postponed last Saturday due to rain, so it might get done this Saturday. Whenever it is done, the lines will have to be redrawn. Please remember that you can always park on the street if you are more comfortable doing so.
I'm taking tomorrow off so the office will be closed until Monday. As always, I am wishing peace, hope, love, faith, grace, and health for everyone.
