Sunday, September 20 -  Congregational Meeting.  The specific purpose of this meeting is to vote on the distribution of our financial assets.

PLEASE NOTE TO ALL PARENTS:  The children's play area will be closed until after the September 13th due to the garage sale. 

GARAGE SALE  Please bring tables that can be used for the garage sale.  Make your name is marked underneath so these can be clearly marked as 'not for sale'.

We also need assistance on Sunday, September 6 to start set up, assist with bringing down the wall cabinets, etc. immediately following worship.

MANNA ORDERS -  Due Sunday, August 2 and will be delivered back to you on Sunday, August 9.

"OFFICE" WORKERS NEEDED  We need a group to start working on all of the supplies and paperwork that is located throughout the church office and our 'storage' area.  There is a lot to go through, sort, file, etc. so this is not all physical work that is needed.   The first meeting to discuss and plan this task will be Thursday, July 30 @ 7:30.

Good Morning-

What a wonderful weekend of celebrating our Pastor and her family.   Bouncy House, great food, fun on Tuesday, I believe it was a wonderful send off for her.  It was wonderful Justin was able to be here, as well as other family and friends joining us for the parties.

HELP NEEDED AFTER CHURCH ON SUNDAY (June 21).  We will be unloading the trailer and loading it with all the balance of the Preschool supplies to be brought to LSSI next week.  Please see Pat Hurdle with any questions

SPECIAL FAMILY CELEBRATION  On Thursday, June 25 at 7:00 p.m., we'll have a special family celebration as we welcome Tristan Marquez and Gavin Orrico to the Welcome Table.  They will be receiving their First Communion together and we are inviting their church family to come be a part of the service and celebration. We'll offer a time of singing, prayer, and then gathering at the Welcome Table.  Please mark your calendars and plan on joining us.  All are welcome!

PASTOR'S CELEBRATION SUNDAY Join us on Sunday June 28th as we celebrate Pastor's last service with Good Shepherd Church.  The outside service will start at 9:00, please bring your favorite lawn chair.  Afterward, lunch will be served as well as many other activities are being planned.  If you have any questions, please feel free to ask anyone on Church Council.

APRIL 30, 2015 WHAT'S HAPPENING AT GOOD SHEPHERD CHURCH

Good Afternoon!

Our office and church are under the same roof now!  While all the boxes aren't unpacked, there is a working office once again.  In some respects, I am sorry to be leaving, but retirement beckons!  Many, many, many thanks to each and every one of you for being a part of the best job I have had in my lifetime.  Thanks also for your good wishes and generosity last Sunday.

Good Morning!

Our office move has begun!  We had a lot of movers and shakers here last night moving what they could, and we'll be moving the last of everything on Saturday.  Right now I'm in an echoing office with the desk (that needs to be emptied) and the copier.  How exciting all these changes are!  If you can, join us Saturday afternoon and help us get moved into our new office area.

As you all are aware. we're moving the office 3 doors down to the church and are seeking volunteers to help us get this accomplished.  Tonight we'll be starting at 7pm and on Saturday the start time will be 1pm.

Our long-awaited moving sale dates have arrived!  A lot of work went into changing over the church area into a sales area and we are hopeful we'll be able to pass on all of our supplies and equipment to new homes.  You can help by spreading the word about the sale dates and also by coming to see if there isn't something you'd like as well.  Today and Friday from 3pm to 8pm and on Saturday from 9am to 3pm are our sales times.

Have you noticed that the grass has suddenly gone green and the Spring awakening is finally in full force?  Our moving sale is quickly approaching and we are hopeful we'll be able to pass on all of our supplies and equipment to new sources.  You can help by spreading the word about the sale dates with the flyers that will be available in church on Sunday.

Moving sale reminder:  If you signed up to bring a table(s) for the moving sale, please bring it/them this Sunday, April 12.  Also, if you are able to stay for a while after church, we are going to be taking down chairs and setting up tables and moving some boxes to begin the set up for the moving sale.  Stay and help as long as you can - shouldn't take more than an hour.

MANNA TIME!  April Manna orders have been received.  While our order was small this month, we still realized $32 profit. Thanks to those who continue to support the Manna program.

 Holy Week services in detail

TONIGHT-Maundy Thursday, April 2 - 7:00 p.m. - In the "upper room" with the Disciples, listening to the words of Jesus and sharing in the Last Supper

Good Friday, April 3 – Our noon service will be a brief service of readings and prayers at the church.  The 7:00 p.m. Good Friday Evening Service of Tenebrae/Darkness will also be held at the church.  This is a special service that has become very meaningful to many of us, as we listen to the last words of Jesus on the day he was crucified.

Holy Saturday, April 4 - We are going to go to Resurrection Cemetery late in the evening (10:30pm) on the eve of Easter, to think about Jesus' last night. 

Sunrise on Easter Sunday, April 5 - 6:30 a.m. - We'll be holding our Sunrise Service once again at Resurrection Cemetery, located on 135th Street.  This service will offer Holy Communion, a reading of the Easter Gospel, and the singing of Easter hymns.

 

Easter Sunday Worship is planned for one service at 9:00am at the church.
