WHAT'S HAPPENING AT GOOD SHEPHERD CHURCH

Hello!

 

It feels like time stood still for the two weeks I was on vacation.  The weather (and snow), are still the same as before I left.  Will winter ever end?  Sunday is March 1^st, and we start daylight savings time a week later on March 8^th when we'll spring the clocks forward an hour.

 

Here's What's Happening around Good Shepherd. . .

 

Sun. March 1-Connection Café opens at 8:30am with Worship at 9am

 

Sun. March 1-Manna orders and money are due today

 

Mon. March 2-Preschool Pricing Party from 6pm to 9pm

 

Mon. March 2- 7:00 pm meeting at the church for everyone, especially leaders of the move teams, to meet to get an update and to make sure everyone is on task

 

Tue. March 3-Preschool Pricing Party from 9am to 5pm

 

Tue. March 3-M & M's Women's Bible Study at 7pm at the home of Jan Sanchez

 

Wed. March 4-Preschool Pricing Party 9:30am to 5pm

 

Wed. March 4-Lenten Worship at 7pm followed by Choir Practice

 

Saturday, March 7-Set your clocks forward an hour before you go to bed as Daylight Savings Time begins!

We're moving toward the Preschool Sale the middle of April by holding "Preschool Pricing Parties" on various day and evening times.  Come help sort and price our items whenever you can.  It's a big job and the more the merrier!  Contact Pat Hurdle for full details.

 

Reignite teams should be meeting on their own until after the move on March 21, and then we will continue with regularly scheduled meetings.  As a reminder, there cannot be any meetings in the church on Tuesday evenings through Lent.  Perhaps they can meet in the front office (?)

 

We're having a meeting on Monday March 2 at 7:00 pm at the church for everyone, especially leaders of the move teams, to meet to get an update and to make sure everyone is on task.  Come early and help with the Preschool pricing!

 

Midweek services - Join us on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. for a special Midweek Lenten service. Our focus this year is on Grace: A Work in Progress.

 

Choir Program - We'll be offering a special choral program on Sunday, March 29 for our Palm Sunday worship.  In advance of that, we'll be having rehearsals on Wednesday evenings following our midweek services, at around 8pm.  We will also have a few extra final rehearsals the week of March 23.  All voices are welcome!  Join us.

 

Help needed - Pastor Suzanne was made aware of a local elderly woman in need of assistance hanging pictures at her apartment.  If this is something you can help with, please let Pastor know. Thanks!

CANCELLATIONS FOR TONIGHT AND TOMORROW

Good Afternoon,

There will NOT be choir practice or Lenten Services tonight.  Also, the "Preschool Pricing Party" that was scheduled for tomorrow evening has been cancelled.  

We will send out a What's Happening report tomorrow with more details of meetings coming up.  

Just a reminder that the Reignite Teams should be meeting on their own until after the move when we will continue with regularly scheduled meetings.

Please pass these cancellations on to others.  We'll be in touch tomorrow!

WHAT'S HAPPENING AT GOOD SHEPHERD CHURCH

Good Afternoon!

Wow!  February certainly came in like a lion, didn't it?  Wonder what March will bring us since that's supposed to be the "in like a lion" month.  I hope that everyone got notice ahead of time when we cancelled worship last Sunday.  If not, please be sure to get us current email information so we can update our records.

 Here's what's happening around Good Shepherd. . . . .

Wed. Feb 11-Wednesday Bible Study will begin at 7pm at the church

Sun. Feb 15-Connection Café at 8:30am with Worship beginning at 9:00am

Sun. Feb 15-Church Council will meet at 2pm

Mon. Feb 16-3rd Monday Study will take place at 7pm at the Sanchez' home

Wed. Feb 18-Ash Wednesday

Yay!  We had Bible Study Wednesday!  All are welcome to join us for Wednesday Bible Study   beginning at 7pm at the church.  There's an area available for children to play quietly or to do their homework.  You can never tell where our study will take us.

 

A big thank you to those who placed Manna orders which totaled $1,900 for February.  We realized a profit of $81.75 thanks to you.  Can we top that in March?  Remember there are always "generic" order forms available at the back of church for ease in ordering and sharing.  Orders are placed the first Sunday of the month and delivered to you by the following Sunday. 

Celebrate Valentine's Day with dinner and a movie at Good Shepherd beginning at 5pm.  Tickets are $8.00 per adult, with children under 12 free, and need to be purchased no later than Thursday, February 12th.  Flyers will be available in church on Sunday.  Mark your calendars now and invite your favorite Valentine(s) to join us for a night of food and fellowship fun.

Tomorrow will be my last day for two weeks of vacation time.  We're heading away from the snow to Myrtle Beach and indoor pools with lazy rivers, too.  I'm wishing everyone peace, faith, hope, love, grace, health, warmth and sunshine!  Oh, and also a Happy Valentine's Day.

ANY MANNA ORDERS FOR GOOD SHEPHERD?

We hope you all weathered the storm okay yesterday.  Since Manna orders were supposed to be turned in yesterday, we are asking that you mail them to the office and send me an email that you are sending an order, so I can watch for it.  You can also drop your order off in the office mailbox.  As long as I get the orders by Wednesday, we can have the cards for you on Sunday.

Friday will be my last day in the office for two weeks, which is why we are doing this. Please call the church and leave a message if you have any questions--and get those orders in!   Thanks for your understanding!
