And Happy Friday to all! We were so busy yesterday getting prepared for last night's Church Council meeting and Pastor ready for vacation, this report is a day late again this week.
Here's the latest information on What's Happening at Good Shepherd Church. . .
Sun. July 20- Connection Café at 8:30am is followed by Worship at 9:00am
Mon. July 21-3rd Monday Bible Study meets at 7pm at the Sanchez home
Wed. July 23-Bring a light dinner at 6:30pm and we'll start Bible Study at 7pm
Sun. July 27-Connection Café at 8:30am will be followed by Worship at 9:00am
Tue. July 29-90 Day Challenge Part 2 Team meetings at 7pm at the church
Wed. July 30-Bring a light dinner to share at 6:30pm with Bible Study beginning at 7pm
Sun. Aug 3-Join us at the Connection Café beginning at 8:30am with Worship at 9:00am
Sun. Aug 3-Manna orders and money are due today
Tue. Aug 5-M & M's Women's Bible Study meets at 7pm at the home of Jan Sanchez
Wed. Aug 6-Starting at 6:30pm with a bring-your-own light dinner, we'll have Bible Study beginning at 7pm.
Thursday August 7 to Sunday August 10 is RomeoFest. Please be sure to see George Sanchez and sign up to volunteer in representing Good Shepherd at the Fest!
How is your "Gifts for Growth" challenge going? We want to encourage everyone to help us get much needed financial assistance!
Remember to start gathering your gently used good quality items for our Garage $ale being held August 15-16 at church. Please contact Lori Haack, Judy Jordan, Bob Kirkland, Dawn Myers, or Wendy Ploense for information.
Roy Jamason is waiting to hear from anyone interested in participating in a monthly prayer meeting where we would gather to lift up prayers of our church family, as well as prayers for the community, and more. Prayer is powerful!
RomeoFest help in our booth is needed! Please talk to George Sanchez about signing up to represent Good Shepherd at their booth. This year on Saturday morning, we also need volunteers to help with special needs children. There are timeslots in 2 hour intervals on each day, and all help would be welcomed and appreciated.
Preschool Registration is going on now! If you know of anyone interested in getting information or enrolling their 3 year old and/or 4 year old child(ren) in our Preschool program for the 2014-2015 school year, have them call the church office at 815-885-4354. We seriously need to get our enrollment increased and your help in getting the word out would be great!
Pastor Suzanne and her family have officially begun their vacation. However, rest assured that we are here for any of your church spiritual needs or emergencies. You can call the church office and leave a message for me Monday through Friday (815-886-4354), or call Council President Carrie Worthington (815-483-6904) or Vice President Judy Jordan (815-210-9967). All three of us have been instructed on what to do if assistance is needed. Please refrain from disturbing Pastor so she can enjoy her much needed personal family time away. She loves all of you and will be back August 2nd. Come see what a great job our council, with the help of some other talented people, does for worship the next two Sundays. Have they got a worship program planned for you!
