Good Afternoon!
Welcome to September. Weren't we lucky with the weather over Labor Day Weekend? Thanks to those of you who took the time to attend the Congregational Meeting. We are planning to set a time to share embezzlement evidence with members and will get an announcement out as soon as a date is finalized. Also, the five 90 day teams will continue to meet and soon be renamed, since they've gone beyond 90 days twice! 
Thanks to all of those who continue to guide and serve Good Shepherd Church during this time of restructuring. Anyone who would like to join a team or have more information, is welcome to contact a council member or attend a meeting.
Here's What's Happening around Good Shepherd Church . . .
Sun. Sept 7-Connection Café opens at 8:30am and Worship begins at 9:00am
Sun. Sept 7-Manna orders are due to be turned in today with delivery next Sunday
Wed. Sept 10-Bring a light dinner at 6:30pm and join the Wednesday Bible Study at 7pm
Fri. Sept 12-Crafter's Night beginning at 7pm at the church
Sun. Sept 14-Connection Café at 8:30am followed by Worship at 9:00am
Sun. Sept 14-Manna orders will be in church today
Mon. Sept 15-Women's Care Group will meet beginning at 6:30pm
Mon. Sept 15-The 3rd Monday Bible Study meets at the Sanchez home at 7pm
Wed. Sept 17-Reports for the Church Council Meeting are due in the office today
Wed. Sept 17-Join us at 6:30pm with your own light dinner and then Bible Study at 7pm
Thur. Sept 18-The formerly known as 90 day teams will meet at 7pm. ALL are welcome to attend.
Sun. Sept. 21-Connection Café at 8:30am followed by Worship at 9:00am
Sun. Sept. 21-Church Council will meet at 4pM
For your information, while we don't list them in What's Happening because they are outside groups, NA continues to meet on Saturdays from 10am to noon, AA meets Sunday nights at 6:30pm and PFLAG Joliet Chapter meets on the 3rd Sunday of the month from 2 to 4pm. Please keep this in mind and respect their privacy when they are meeting in our church.
Manna order forms for September are due to be turned in this Sunday. Manna cards are a safe way to spend without carrying cash or worrying about your credit card being hacked by a security breach as Jewel and now Lowe's have been. There are several vendor cards that will suit everyone's needs, and they make excellent gifts as well. Best of all, you don't have any extra fees added. You only pay the face value of the card. Check out the newly improved form (it is fluorescent yellow this month) and consider placing an order. Thanks!
The Connection Café would appreciate receiving treats to share on Sunday. It doesn't have to be much—just a little something to go along with the coffee. Please remember the Café is closed while we are having worship to avoid distraction and disturbing others during the worship time. Please be considerate.
By the way, this Saturday our parking lot is going to be seal coated and may not have parking lanes drawn when you come to church on Sunday.
