Commitment to Love – On Saturday, February 15 - 4pm – we’ll enjoy an evening of celebrating and committing to love - of spouse/partner, child, family, friends, brothers and sisters in Christ, etc.  as well as a family-style dinner, musical entertainment, and a memento to take home.  Our time begins with a special time of worship, followed by dinner and entertainment.  It's sure to be an afternoon/evening of fun, laughter, and memories.

At the Annual meeting, the general consensus was to take the following 90 days to review all aspects of our budget and spending to see where things could be changed, cut, etc.  We will be having several meetings and we would like everyone in our congregation to be a part of one of these planning teams.  They are:

Salary/Benefits-Bruce Texley is Council liaison.  This will be a complete review of all of our Staffing options which include benefits, Pastoral status, etc.

Source of Income-Carrie Worthington is Council liaison.  This will include a Stewardship drive, Fundraising, grants, etc.

Membership/Outreach-Roy Jamason and George Sanchez are Council Liaisons.  This will include a review of what immediate solutions can be done to reach those who are not attending, reaching out to the community, planning for evangelism and growth.

Space Usage-Dave Darguzis and Judy Jordan are Council Liaisons.  This includes a review of our space, what can be changed, what we need.  A review of Preschool and DCFS and what changing our space configurations would mean to the future of Preschool.

If you haven’t already, please prayerfully consider where you can best serve in planning the future of our church.  Each of these four areas will meet at 7pm on February 27th, March 18th, and April 3rd at the church.  Any questions should be directed to the Council liaison member shown above.  Your help would be sincerely appreciated as the clock is ticking!

Wednesday Study - This Bible Study will continue to meet through the month of February.  Join us at church at 6:30pm for a bring-your-own-supper, followed by Bible study at 7pm.  All are welcome!  Bring your supper, a Bible, and join us!

PRESCHOOL NEWS FROM MISS MARILYN & MISS JUDITH

We just wanted to share the good news with the congregation that our new Department of Children and Family Services Licensing Representative showed up Friday, February 7th, for our surprise inspection. We are happy to announce that we had no violations!

Friday, February 7th was also the day of our Sweetheart Dance. The preschool would like to thank everyone for help making it a success! Seventy-six people plus workers danced the night away. Seventeen preschool families attended plus one church family. We also had six former students show up with friends or relatives because they wanted to attend!

Miss Judith and I would like to send a special thank you to the following people for being such “Sweethearts” and helping out:

·         Steve Hurdle our DJ / Courtney Hurdle our song mixer

·         Bob Hurdle our photographer / Lynne Hurdle our picture printer, and for donations of cookies and ink cartridges

·         Pat Hurdle, who helped with set up, donated cookies and chaperoned

Art and Chris Arellano for donating cookies and chaperoning the dance

·         Shirley Anderson and Lisa Motyka for donating cookies

·         Andrew Stec for blowing up 50 balloons for the last dance/ Sarah Stec for helping out with the dance and tearing down after the dance

·         Tamara Stirn, Jesus Macias, and Tarra Duffy who donated Silent Auction items

Thank you everyone!

I’m wishing you all peace, hope, faith, joy, love, grace, health and a happy Valentine’s Day!
