Please join us this Sunday morning as we take time to highlight our financial ministries.  We'll be honoring our Treasurer, Angie Kistinger, for her service to the church and installing our new treasurer, Allen Kirkland, and financial secretary, Lynne Hurdle.  The ministry that Angie has done, particularly in the last two years, has been so important in so many ways.  The Church Council wanted to take time to show our gratitude to her and her family.  We hope you'll join us in showing your thanks.

Reignite is the name for our 90 Day Teams.  Come help reignite Good Shepherd Church.  The next meeting will take place on October 16th at 7pm at the church.  All are invited to join us to help make it happen.  There are different areas of interest that would welcome additional support.  Come join the meetings and have some fun as well!

Manna orders for October are in and the new November order forms are available now, too.   Manna cards are a safe way to spend without carrying cash or worrying about your credit card being hacked by a security breach.  There are several vendor cards that will suit everyone's needs, and they make excellent gifts as well.  Best of all, you only pay the face value of the card and never have any extra fees added.  We realized an $84.62 profit in October.  Check out the newest form and consider placing an order.  Call the office (815-886-4354) if you have any questions about the program and we'll be glad to help out.  Thanks!

Do you know of anyone interested in having a table at our third annual Vendor's Fair coming to Good Shepherd on November 15th?  Plans are underway now with the cost of a table being $25 plus 10% (or more) of the actual sales.  Sale hours are 9am to 2pm with set-up beginning at 8am.  Please have them contact Judy Jordan or Lori Haack for further details and/or a Vendor's contract, and plan to come to shop on that date as well!

Our October 18th Family Fun Day has been postponed due to unexpected family obligations.  A new date will be decided on at our October 16th Reignite meeting.

We received notice in the office about a free Mortgage Relief Project outreach event, part of the Illinois Foreclosure Prevention Network, to help lower your mortgage and avoid foreclosure.  This event will be held on Saturday, October 25th.  For more information, check the back table at church.

Remember that you can check Good Shepherd's Facebook page for the latest news or updates, as well as calling the church office (815-886-4354).  Be sure to leave a message if there's no answer and someone will get back to you.  Also, please email me (revassistant@gmail.com) if you prefer not to get this weekly What's Happening report.

The office will be closed on Monday for Columbus Day.  As always, I am wishing peace, hope, love, faith, grace, and health for everyone.  Enjoy Indian summer!
