WHAT'S HAPPENING AT GOOD SHEPHERD CHURCH - APRIL 2, 2015

Hello!

 How has your Holy Week been going so far?  We hope that you will join us tonight at the church for Maundy Thursday service at 7pm, as well as all the other services leading up to and including the wondrous miracle of Easter. 

 Here's What's Happening around Good Shepherd. . .

 TONIGHT-Thur. April 2-Maundy Thursday Worship at church at 7:00pm

 TOMORROW-Fri. April 3-Good Friday Worship services at 12 noon and at 7:00pm at the church (see details below)

 Sat. April 4-Holy Saturday Easter Vigil at 10:30pm at Resurrection Cemetery

 Sun. April 5-Easter Sunday Sunrise service at 6:30am at Resurrection Cemetery

 Sun. April 5-Easter Sunday Worship at 9:00am at the church

 Note that the services scheduled for Resurrection Cemetery are weather permitting and  will be moved to the church if conditions are bad or threatening.  If you're in doubt, text Pastor's cell phone (815-355-2397).

Tue. April 7-M & M's Women's Bible Study will be at 7pm at the home of Jan Sanchez

 

Sun. April 12-Connection Café at 8:30am with Worship beginning at 9am

 

Mon. April 13 & Tue. April 15-Setting up Moving Sale beginning at 9:30am both days

 

Wed. April 15-Moving Pre-sale date for church family members from 6-8 pm

 

Wed. April 15-Church Council reports are due in the office today!  Tax Returns are due to be mailed to the IRS today, too.

 Thur. April 16 & Fri. April 17-Moving Sale conducted from 3pm to 8pm at the church

 Sat. April 18-Moving Sale final day from 9am to 3pm

 Sun. April 19-Connection Café opens at 8:30am with Worship at 9am.  Following Worship we will have our first forum for reviewing Synod Study recommendations.

 Sun. April 19-Church Council will meet beginning at 2pm

 Holy Week services in detail

TONIGHT-Maundy Thursday, April 2 - 7:00 p.m. - In the "upper room" with the Disciples, listening to the words of Jesus and sharing in the Last Supper

Good Friday, April 3 – Our noon service will be a brief service of readings and prayers at the church.  The 7:00 p.m. Good Friday Evening Service of Tenebrae/Darkness will also be held at the church.  This is a special service that has become very meaningful to many of us, as we listen to the last words of Jesus on the day he was crucified.

Holy Saturday, April 4 - We are going to go to Resurrection Cemetery late in the evening (10:30pm) on the eve of Easter, to think about Jesus' last night. 

Sunrise on Easter Sunday, April 5 - 6:30 a.m. - We'll be holding our Sunrise Service once again at Resurrection Cemetery, located on 135th Street.  This service will offer Holy Communion, a reading of the Easter Gospel, and the singing of Easter hymns.

 

Easter Sunday Worship is planned for one service at 9:00am at the church.

MANNA TIME!  April Manna orders and payments are due to be turned in by Easter Sunday, and they will be delivered on Sunday, April 12.  Look over the order form and place your order for almost anything you can think of or need, and we'll both profit!  Thanks for your continued support of the Manna program.  Please call the office (815-886-4354) if you have any questions.
